Verizon holiday homepage: adding personality to an existing experience

This 2015 holiday concept explored a playful seasonal layer for Verizon’s homepage. I focused on the existing Mad Libs-style carousel, looking for a way to add personality without overwhelming the shopping experience.

Project overview

Who it is for

Customers encountering Verizon’s homepage during the holiday season.

The design focus

Introduce a seasonal moment while retaining the structure of an existing shopping interaction.

What the work includes

A holiday visual concept for the homepage’s Mad Libs-style carousel.

01

Work with an existing interaction

The personalized carousel gave the concept its starting point. Rather than relying only on seasonal imagery, the design connected holiday expression to a part of the page customers could interact with.

02

Add a small moment of surprise

The initial mockup explored animated snow on hover. The treatment was intended as a subtle, playful complement to the carousel, and is presented here as a historical concept rather than a verified launch or performance result.

The connection to my practice

What this work demonstrates

This concept shows how a focused creative adjustment can add personality without requiring a new experience from the ground up. The existing carousel provided the structure for the seasonal idea.
