Project overview

Who it is for

Viewers exploring the form and construction of geometric illustration.

The design focus

Preserve the gentle character of a resting fawn through an angular visual structure.

What the work includes

A finished illustration and a companion line breakdown of the triangular construction.

01

Keep the gesture recognizable

The folded body, upright head and broad ears give the fawn its character. Larger planes establish the overall form, while smaller triangles describe the face and the transitions around the neck.

02

Show the structure behind the color

The companion line drawing reveals the network of triangles beneath the finished treatment. Presented together, the images make this a concise visual study of shape, tone and construction.

The connection to my practice

What this work demonstrates

The paired views make the design decisions visible: silhouette establishes the pose, triangular planes build dimension, and color connects the structure to the character of the animal.
