Project overview

Who it is for

Viewers interested in expressive animal illustration and geometric visual design.

The design focus

Use the tail, pose, and color contrast to make a simplified animal immediately recognizable.

What the work includes

A standalone squirrel illustration and a device presentation of the finished artwork.

01

Let the silhouette carry the subject

The oversized tail establishes the composition, while the small paws and alert face keep the animal recognizable. Warm cream, tan and brown planes contrast with the flat teal field.

02

Present the illustration in context

The device mockup shows how the artwork reads as a screen image. The standalone view keeps the focus on the faceted construction, subtle surface detail and shadow beneath the animal.

The connection to my practice

What this work demonstrates

This study shows how a few strong visual decisions can carry character. The tail establishes the silhouette, while a restrained background keeps the faceted animal in focus.
